Sales Pipeline Management & Cleanup

Forum|alt.badge.img+7

What is everyone’s process and/or best practices for keeping your sales pipelines updated, clean, & accurate in a way that doesn’t skew your sales scorecards, KPI’s, and reporting? We have quite a backlog of old estimates and proposals that need to be either re-proposed or lost. Some are old enough that they should be reviewed and updated to reflect current catalog pricing and display names, etc. before being re-proposed and put back into the pipeline. I keep going back and forth on how to approach this.

I’ve considered playing around with the date fields (start/end/anticipated close) on the original opportunity, pulling reports by different “people” fields like created by, sales rep, account owner, scorecard contact, etc., Maybe copying or renewing the old opp to generate a new one with automatically updated pricing so each old opp doesn’t have to be reviewed and updated individually? Or maybe there’s a different workaround all together I’ve not yet considered like getting creative with how things are configured on the backend in administration? Happy to hear your thoughts!
