As a company we mainly use the copy opportunity function for our renewal process and go through and change info as needed. We would love to switch to using the renewal function but have noticed that when we use renewal it alters the hours in the contracts. We assume this is to make the contract more profitable but that is not always the case. Is there a way to turn this off or change the factor it alters the hours by?

When using the renewal function you have to select the options for copy instead of update in order to get an exact copy of the existing estimate. Updating kits, costs or pricing will recalculate hours and/or $$ in the renewal estimate.

We have tried that and it still changes the hours on the renewal.

I'd have to see it in order to help troubleshoot. I'd be willing to jump on a zoom if you'd like. Shoot me an email at david@spiritusba.com and we can schedule something if you are interested.

If you are using takeoffs, it is likely just using those again to pull the production rates and resetting service costs and labor.
