Opportunity Renewals and Copy settings don't seem to be functioning

Up until the recent update (White Pine release) the Renewals function for Opportunities was working great. We were able to designate that we wanted to keep overridden pricing and it was working, updated formatting for descriptions in the Service catalog were coming through, etc. However, post update, this is not happening anymore for some reason. When we renew a contract and choose the option to keep pricing, it’s recalculating the pricing, rather than keeping the overrides, and our updated Service Descriptions are not updating either. We have a ticket in with Aspire Care, but our Power User says he hasn’t gotten any response to it yet. I’m curious to know if anyone else is experiencing this or if it’s just us.

Looks like this issue was resolved in the most recent bug fix! Glad to have this feature back.

Apologies, these functions ARE working when you copy an opportunity, just not when you renew an opportunity. Still would like to know if anyone is experiencing these issues with Renewals.

I am having the same issues with renewals. I just submitted a ticket.

You posted a month ago - has your issue been fixed yet?

Hey Susan,

It has not been fixed yet. Still experiencing this issue. We met with our CSM yesterday, hoping that she can help us get it pushed forward so we can get it resolved. Did you start experiencing this after the November release as well? Just curious if any of those updates/fixes could have inadvertently created this renewals issue.

This is the first renewal I’m doing. Last year I had to reenter each contract from a new template to get the updated service descriptions. I was hoping with the new functionality it would be easier this year.

If they don’t get it fixed soon, I guess I will have to reenter all the contracts again this year. Boo.

Gotcha. When the renewal function works correctly, it is super easy to process renewals. When it was working previously, our contracts with no price increases/changes would take a matter of seconds. It was awesome. The auto updating of service descriptions from the catalog was awesome too, really helped us standardize the appearance of all of our contracts. We’re really hoping this gets fixed sooner than later, hope it gets fixed for you too. Having to do all renewals manually is definitely not ideal.

I’m glad you posted this! The help desk sent me an email over the weekend that the prices are NOT suppose to carry over when you do a renewal and that it was working correctly:

Aspire's renewal process does not carry over previous service prices, only maintaining the service structure and estimated hours.
If service or production rates have changed, the renewed opportunity will be repriced using current system rates rather than historical prices.
Best practices for managing renewals include locking prices before renewing, manually copying pricing from previous opportunities, or using a custom field to track locked prices.
The recommended standard operating procedure involves confirming current rates, renewing the opportunity, validating pricing, and adjusting as necessary before publishing the proposal.
For true year-over-year price carryover, manual verification is essential, as "Keep Previous Service Prices" only preserves the service structure.

I just finished creating new templates so I could start re-entering all my contracts 😖

But I checked and you are right - it is fixed!
