Submittals are basically documents that are shared during large bid/build construction projects for various reasons. These documents can be:
1. Based on requests from an interested party (i.e. a developer asks for photos of specific plant species)
2. Required by law (i.e. permits or materials safety data sheets)
3. Related to the execution of the project (i.e. change orders that need to be reviewed by a general contractor, or subcontractors or vendors want to submit bids or quotes on a project.)

Both Contracts and Work Orders can use the submittal management functionality.

How do I invite a user to send and receive submittals in the portal?

When you have the Edit Submittals user role permission enabled in Aspire, on that user’s Contact Details page you will see a new field called Submittal Portal Access. This field will have a Send Invite button. When you click that button, they will be enabled for portal access and will receive an email inviting them to finish setting up their account and login.

@baraica Why don’t I see Submittals listed as a permission category in User Roles?

Hi @BrennaB - that is because the feature is not turned on in your company’s account yet. Please check your private messages for more information.
