We were throwing around Ideas that could simplify the invoicing, payment, client portal process. Is it possible to include an additional link in the body of the email that gets sent to clients when their invoices are sent to them. Is it possible to include a link to “create a client portal account” to add to our email so each client who does not have an account doesn’t have to call or email our office to then have a separate email sent to them to create their account? Or like I saw in another topic someone suggested a qr code a client can scan to create a client portal account. Essentially, I would like to be able to have a client who already has an account to have a link that directs them to the portal to pay and then for all clients who do not have an account to have a link that directs them to create a portal account. Is this already a possibility or is this a wish list item?

Can’t agree more. We really wish the client portal invitation link can be built as a token or somehow built into the invoicing email template

  2. client portal invitation link to be built in the invoice layout to be able to print out. 

 

That will streamline the payment process.

You're right that this specific functionality isn't available in the customer portal today. I encourage you to add your vote to this idea in the voting portal! This is the most effective way to make your voice heard and directly influence future enhancements to the customer portal. We actively monitor the number of votes an idea receives and take those into consideration for future development😊

In the interim, I’ve seen some find success by offering two options on their site:

  • "Existing Account/Click Here to Pay": This option redirects clients to the portal, when they already have an account. 

  • "Click here to join the client portal": This option leads to a quick form where clients can request an invitation to the portal. Once you receive their request, you can send an invitation. 

Having a dedicated page like this also allows for the easy creation of a QR code, if that's something you'd find useful. You can also enroll clients in the portal before invoicing, and then include a link to the portal in your invoicing emails. However, this option assumes that all clients have a portal account and can sign in when they receive the invoice email.
